5th Annual Spaghetti Eating Contest
Terms & Conditions
The 2024 PDOP Spaghetti Eating Contest (“Contest”) is sponsored by Pahrump Disability Outeach Program (P.D.O.P.) (“Sponsor”).
Eligibility: This Contest is open to anyone. No officers or board of directors of the Sponsor are eligible to participate in the Contest. Void where prohibited by law. All federal, state, and local laws apply. Participation in this Contest constitutes an entrant’s full and unconditional agreement and acceptance of these Official Rules. Further, participation constitutes acceptance of any Sponsor decisions (including the decisions of any Sponsor-designated judges) regarding the Contest, which are final and binding. Selected entrants must register and will be required to complete and sign a waiver in order to participate in the contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements set forth in these Official Rules.
Contest Period: The Contest Entry Period begins on September 1, 2024 and ends on October 25th 2024 at 5:00 p.m. Pacific Time (“Contest Entry Period”). The Sponsor’s phone is the official clock for the Contest. The Contest will take place on October 25th, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at P.D.O.P. Pumpkin Days, Ian Deutch Memorial Park, 1600 Honeysuckle Street, Pahrump, Nevada 89048 (“Pumpkin Days”).
Contestant Duties: All contestants must be registered and checked in by 5:00PM on October 25th 2024, at Pumpkin Days.
How to Enter: Interested eligible persons may enter by visiting our website and filling out the contestant entry form by October 25th 2024 5:00 p.m. at www.pdop.info.
The object is to eat as much of provided pasta within 8 minutes. Each Contestant’s portion will be weighed to ensure consistency. The Contestant who eats the greatest amount in the 8 minutes shall be the Contest winner.
Contestants will wait for the bell to start. Contest will be timed with a stopwatch app. Contestants must not touch any of the pasta until the starting bell rings. Any pasta in contestants’ mouth at the final bell is counted if it is then swallowed. Eating with your hands is permitted, no utensils will be provided. Spillage of the pasta in a material amount may disqualify contestant, as determined by the Sponsor and/or judges appointed by Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right in its sole discretion to disqualify any entrant that it believes violates or potentially violates any of the foregoing rules and requirements or otherwise fails to comply with any provision of these Official rules.
Registration prior to October 25th at midnight is $10. Registration after October 25th at midnight is $20.
Entrants will only be allowed to participate with valid P.D.O.P. Pumpkin Days entrance wristband.
Prizes:
The contest will be broken down into 3 categories.
1: <9 years of age
2: 9-14 years of age
3: >14 years of age
Prizes will be awarded as follows:
1: 1st place – $25, 2nd place -- free cotton candy, 3rd place -- free snow cone
2: 1st place -- $50, 2nd place -- $25, 3rd place – free snow cone
3: 1st place -- $200, 2nd place -- $50, 3rd place – free snow cone
Sponsor’s Decisions Binding, Severability, and Priority of Official Rules: Sponsor’s interpretation of the Official Rules is final and binding in all matters related to the Contest. Should any provision of the Official Rules or any word, clause, phrase, sentence, or portion thereof be held unenforceable or invalid for any reason, then such identified provision or word, clause, phrase, sentence, or portion thereof will be severed and the remaining Official Rules will be remain valid and enforceable. Sponsor’s failure to enforce any of the Official Rules, or any portion thereof, does not constitute a waiver of the same. In the event of any conflict between the Official Rules and any other Contest details found in any Contest advertising, the Official Rules shall control.
Limitation of Liability: Entrants agree that the Sponsor, and its respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, representatives, consultants, and contractors, and their respective officers, directors, employees, volunteers, representatives, designees and agents (“Released Parties”) are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, misdirected, or undeliverable registration forms, entries, mail, or e-mail notifications; or any technical, mechanical, printing, delivery, or typographical or other error; or unauthorized human intervention; or the incorrect or inaccurate capture of registration information; or the failure to capture, or loss of, any such information. The Released Parties are not responsible for any injury or damage to participants or to any participant's property related to or resulting from participating in the Contest and/or accepting or using a Prize. By entering the Contest, each entrant agrees, except where prohibited by law: (i) to waive any rights to claim ambiguity with respect to these Official Rules; (ii) to waive all of his or her rights to bring any claim, action or proceeding against any of the Released Parties in connection with the Contest; and (iii) to forever and irrevocably agree to release and hold harmless each of the Released Parties from any and all claims, lawsuits, judgments, causes of action, proceedings, demands, fines, penalties, liability, costs and expenses (including, without limitation, reasonable outside attorneys’ fees) that may arise in connection with the Contest.
